Westgate Story
Rebuilding for Resiliency

WESTGATE STORY
Due to age and neglect, many of Westgate’s affordable homes were lost during the 2004-2005 hurricanes. In addition to replacing 13 homes lost due to Hurricane Wilma, our partnership with the Westgate Community Redevelopment Agency and Palm Beach County is part of a long-term strategy to revitalize the Westgate community through the addition of new homeowners and the resurgence of the neighborhood housing market. Built on five scattered site vacant parcels, the new three and four bedroom homes meet the Florida Green Building standards. The homes were sold to low-income homebuyers earning less than 80% of the area median income.
