A resident-driven plan for neighborhood change.
Neighbors working together to achieve common goals.

In 2019, we bagan working in Coleman Park
engaging residents in a dialogue focused on bringing neighbors together to share different views, ideas and experiences. In the process, they developed leadership skills, built stronger relationships and learned the importance of working together for common goals. These efforts led to a shared vision that formed the basis of a resident driven plan for neighborhood change.
Coleman Park Renaissance is a sustained effort to transform the neighborhood’s commercial corridor. The development provides 43 apartments affordable to residents earning 22% to 70% of the area’s median income and 4,000 sq. ft. of new commercial space for minority businesses. The $20.5 million development replaces 11 vacant lots located along N. Tamarind Ave., which was once a thriving hub of black-owned grocery stores, clubs, beauty salons and a library. The project received $4.7 million in funding from Florida Housing Finance Corp.; City donated land; $3,035,000 from Palm Beach County, $250,000 from the Lost Tree Foundation, and $235,000 from the Quantum Foundation. Raymond James raised additional equity through the 4% LIHTC program. TD Bank is a construction loan and M & T is committed to a perm loan.
