Chairman

Carl A. Flick, Chairman is an urban planning consultant, professional photographer, and painter with over 25 years of municipal & county planning experience. He is the founder of Synergistic Solutions, LLC, a company primarily focused on property management in two states. He has traveled extensively and photographed over 90 countries on six continents. He is President of the Northwood Shores Neighborhood Association and has written extensively about the area’s history. Carl has served as Neighborhood Renaissance Board Chairman since 1999 and serves on the Executive, Real Estate, and Governance Committees.

Timothy Coppage has over 30 years of executive experience with the private sector, not for profits, quasi-public corporations and government agencies. He has served as President of the East Hartford Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of Housing Development for the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority and Deputy Commissioner for Housing at the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development. He currently serves on the Palm Beach Gardens Planning and Zoning Commission and provides consulting services for the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida. Mr. Coppage was elected to the Board in January 2016 and serves on the Real Estate and Audit Committee.

Bette Anne Starkey, Secretary has served as a board member for over 20 years. Bette Anne is a Northwood Shores resident and past President of its Neighborhood Association and Secretary/Treasurer of the Northwood Coalition of Neighborhoods. She is an associate with The Mitchell Group and previously worked in sales/marketing for Cross Match Technologies. Following her years as assistant to U.S. Congressman Paul G. Rogers (FL) in Washington, DC, she served as government affairs associate in the medical device industry. She serves on the Executive and Governance Committees.

Joey Aaron Eichner, Treasurer is President and Founder of Aaron Group, a full service real estate company. Joey has over 35 years of experience in the real estate brokerage, property management, construction management and development industries. Before founding Aaron Group, Joey was President of Catalfumo Companies where during his 16-year tenure, he was responsible for over $2 Billion in development projects. Those projects included some of the most notable developments along the PGA Boulevard corridor in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida where he transformed more than 300 vacant acres of prime commercial property into a vibrant mecca of professional office and quality high-end retail. Joey joined the board in 2014 and serves on the Executive, Governance, Real Estate and Audit Committees.

Cheryl Banks has been an Affordable Housing Lender since 1988. She has worked at various banks and savings and loans and is currently with Regions  Bank. Her specialty is first time homebuyers, down payment assistance and special programs including SHIP and Bond, but she is known to do all types of mortgage lending. Her passion is assisting buyers to achieve homeownership who thought they never would qualify for a mortgage. Cheryl was elected to the board in 2018 and serves on the Real Estate Committee.

Jean Bayol is a Neighborhood Renaissance Community Land Trust homeowner, resident of Northwood Pines and was elected to the board in 2008. He is actively involved in neighborhood crime watch.  Mr. Bayol currently works as an ESOL Coordinator at the Middle School level in the Palm Beach School District. He also serves as a committee member exploring the implementation of the first Palm Beach County Public School District’s English-Haitian Creole dual-language program to promote equity and equal access to first-class education. He is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Haitian Creole.

Maricela Torres

Maricela Torres, Executive Director and Co-founder of Esperanza Community Center believes in the power of education to transform lives and serving others by volunteering in the community. Born in Michoacán, Mexico, she was ten years old when she came to the United States with her mother and siblings and experienced firsthand the hardships and challenges facing immigrant workers. As an undocumented teenager, she worked as a migrant worker picking grapes in California and cherries in Oregon. Maricela moved to Florida in 1997 and has a bachelor’s of science in Organizational Management and a master of science in Psychology. She served on the Board of Directors at El Sol, Jupiter’s Neighborhood Resource Center, for two and a half years; as well as an Adult Literacy Teacher, Legal Services Program volunteer, and Te Escucho, a peer counseling program. Other volunteer work includes being a Child Advocate Volunteer with the 15th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem program in Palm Beach County, which seeks to provide a powerful voice on behalf of Florida’s abused and neglected children.

Julie Hyatt was elected to the Board in 2008.  She is a Neighborhood Renaissance Community Land Trust homeowner and resident of Northwood Legacy neighborhood.  She works as a Property Administrator for Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. (JLL), assisting with the management of various commercial office buildings in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.  Ms. Hyatt is fluent in English, Spanish and Jamaican Creole (Patois).  She is a member of the Navy Mothers’ Clubs of America.

Diane Peterson McNeal, Managing Director and National Practice Leader of Private Banking at CIBC Bank USA, joined the board in 2017. She has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry with 30 of those years in the Florida market. Diane has a depth of knowledge and experience in private banking. She earned a BBA in Finance and Marketing from Adelphi University, and an Executive MBA in Risk Management and Legal Compliance from Florida Atlantic University. She has also studied advanced lending and financial management techniques. She is an advisory council member for Florida Atlantic University’s Harriet Wilkes Honors College, emeritus board member and past president of Opportunity Inc. Early Learning Center and a Gracey Society Member of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches. Diane serves on the Audit Committee.
