QUINCY, Fla. (Sept. 18, 2026) – Neighborhood Renaissance, Inc. (NRI), a statewide nonprofit affordable housing developer dedicated to strengthening local economies and fostering thriving communities, today celebrated the completion of its newest affordable housing community, Cross Creek Gardens at Quincy, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the property located at 1715 South Springs Road in Quincy.
The development was made possible through $16.3 million in public and private investment from Florida Housing Finance Corporation, Florida Community Loan Fund, Raymond James, JPMorgan Chase, Escambia County Housing Finance Authority, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, with support from the City of Quincy.
Like many rural communities across Florida, Quincy is experiencing growing housing demand and a shortage of affordable rental options for working families and seniors. Developments such as Cross Creek Gardens are critical to meeting workforce housing needs while supporting the city’s continued economic growth.
“Investing in affordable housing is investing in the long-term strength of a community,” said Laura Myers, Vice President, Community Development Banking, J.P. Morgan. “Cross Creek Gardens reflects exactly the kind of thoughtful development that creates opportunity for local families. J.P. Morgan is honored to support Neighborhood Renaissance in making this vision a reality.”
Cross Creek Gardens emerged from a collaborative economic development initiative designed to create attainable housing near Quincy’s expanding commercial corridor and industrial park. At the time the development was conceived, Gadsden County had only approximately 200 rental units available countywide, and those units maintained consistently high occupancy rates.
To support the project, the City of Quincy secured a $909,810 grant through the Florida Department of Commerce’s Rural Infrastructure Fund. The funding helped extend South Springs Road and provide critical infrastructure needed for the development.
Cross Creek Gardens features 36 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes affordable to households earning between 50% and 60% of the area median income ($84,700). Monthly rents start at approximately $800, providing a much-needed housing option for local working families.
In addition to quality housing, NRI offers supportive resident services designed to promote long-term stability and economic opportunity. These services include financial management coaching, employment assistance, and transportation to nearby healthcare providers.
Each apartment includes modern finishes, energy-efficient appliances, and a private patio or balcony. Community amenities include a clubhouse, computer lab, training room, community kitchen, outdoor patio, fenced tot lot, and picnic area.
“At the FHLBank of Atlanta, fulfilling our mission means working with our members and community partners to expand access to quality, affordable housing and create opportunities for families to thrive,” said Tomeka Strickland, Senior Vice President and Director of Community Investment Services. “We are proud to support Cross Creek Gardens, which will provide much-needed affordable housing and contribute to the long-term vitality of Quincy and Gadsden County.”
